'Poke'shastra!!
Dt - Apr 25, 2011, 1:50 pm.

This piece is dedicated to my Facebook friends, esp. my 'Poke' buddies. Here's a little tribute to this amazing feature which makes life so much easier online!!!

To begin with, I would say it relieves you from saying "hi!" individually! Well, you don't always have things to talk about, right?! And even when you do have things to talk about, you don't always have the time... and when you have the time, others are busy... so there...!!! And, naturally it doesn't and cannot end at that "hi!"; people will, out of some compulsion ask you 'how s life", "how are things", "what's new" and other routine questions to which you have the same routine answers such as "all good... you tell me" or "same old... same old... wats new with u?" or some such reply!! Well, trust me, and you can quote me on this - "A 'poke' a day, keeps petty/deliberate conversations at bay!!" ;) :P :D

I've this list of 'poke' buddies, and i admit, everytime we login, its so good to see those familiar 'pokes' which so naturally translate into "hi!", you immidiately know they're all fine and doin' good!! I bet the feeling is absolutely mutual, you guys would agree!!

I also wish to clarify, I'm extremely selective about the 'pokes'!! Im careful while sending them, and careful whose pokes I return! (Yeah, you bet there s a whole philosophy about these 'Pokes', man, come to think of it!!) So, if you're reading this and are one of those who've ever recieved a 'poke' from me(or whose poke I've ever returned), you're indeed someone I 'LIKE'!! :-P

And, finally having said all that i've said today, you must be wondering why did I write this?!?!? Well, I was wonderin' too, and hell yeah, I had nothing better to do @work right now!! :-/ What with frequent power-cuts(that too with a big bang now and then) and due to that the internet connection down as well, what better to do than philosophize about a 'poke', I told myself!!!! *sighs* :|

Thanks for reading it!!! :))

The Monsoon Ballad - 2 : Waiting for the rain....

They say he's been coming often these days and waiting outside my window for me, I've been too busy to even know if its bright or cloudy, or which part of the day it is outside!! Heard he's spread the carpet of green all over, for me to see and smile when I peep out of my window. But I've been shut away in a box with lots of staplers and letter pads for company, occasionally clicking on my mouse... Googling the weather and blue skies in 'another part of the world'... fantasizing if I could run away and live there forever! And I complain I've been a slave to this corporate weather. And all I breathe is the smell of paper.... I take detours in my mind, wonderin how it'd have been if I was a farmer on the hill side! And I could've seen him often, wearing a rainbow crown on his head....Oh I definitely think you're handsome, Rain!! And I day-dream about getting drenched in a sweet surrender, and I imagine the droplets chatter occasionally, hummi...
