Amuseum!!!!

A collection of amusing facts thru history....
Source : here and there.
Purpose : Just Like That! :-|

  1. To take an oath, ancient Romans put a hand on their testicles. (So, when in Rome, do what the Romans do?!? [:o] I guess NOT!! [:O])
  2. Until President Kennedy was killed, it wasn't a federal crime to assassinate the President. (NO COMMENTS! :|)
  3. Ancient gladiators were mostly vegetarians.( Now, that's interesting! Isn't it?! :P :D)
  4. The first known contraceptive was crocodile dung, used by Egyptians in 2000 B.C. (Ewwww.... i'm sure the Egyptians believed it to be an aphrodisiac as well!!!! *Rolls eyes*)
  5. Hundreds of years ago, the Aztecs of Mexico and the people of Nicaragua believed gods lived in volcanoes. They would sacrifice beautiful young girls to these powerful gods. (Wow! And they believed their 'Gods' to be womanizers too?!?! [:o] :-/ *Losers!!*)
  6. The life expectancy in 1900 was just 47 years. (Yeah?! Well, I think life expectancy and quality somehow, have an inverse proportion. So, I don't know if it has increased to about 50+ now, should we take it as a boon or a curse!! *sighs*)
  7. In ancient Egypt, priests plucked EVERY hair from their bodies, including their eyebrows and eyelashes. (In some religions(In India itself, I know) they still do!! Wonder why though!! :-o :-??)
  8. Vikings used the skulls of their enemies as drinking vessels. (Bah! I won't be surprised to know they wore their testicles as medals around their neck!! :-/)
  9. The Taj Mahal took 20 years and 20 thousand men to finish! (And, by the end of it, all those 20,000 men were finished. Best artisans, what with their wrists chopped-off?!?!!! Barbarism.)
  10. Nazi leader Adolf Hitler had only one testicle. (Some ball that was!!! O_o)
  11. Leonardo da Vinci was dyslexic, and he often wrote backwards. ( Some of the best creative thinkers are dyslexic. Goes to say, the more you find 'learning' easy, the more difficult being creative becomes?!? [:-o] :-s)
  12. That's it for now... Enjoyyyyyyyyyyy! :D :)))
Thanks for dropping by..... Come back for more...... Latersssss... :))

The Monsoon Ballad - 2 : Waiting for the rain....

They say he's been coming often these days and waiting outside my window for me, I've been too busy to even know if its bright or cloudy, or which part of the day it is outside!! Heard he's spread the carpet of green all over, for me to see and smile when I peep out of my window. But I've been shut away in a box with lots of staplers and letter pads for company, occasionally clicking on my mouse... Googling the weather and blue skies in 'another part of the world'... fantasizing if I could run away and live there forever! And I complain I've been a slave to this corporate weather. And all I breathe is the smell of paper.... I take detours in my mind, wonderin how it'd have been if I was a farmer on the hill side! And I could've seen him often, wearing a rainbow crown on his head....Oh I definitely think you're handsome, Rain!! And I day-dream about getting drenched in a sweet surrender, and I imagine the droplets chatter occasionally, hummi...

To the sea- Once while watching the waves continuously pulled up and pulled back it looked as though someone was trying to make a bed and couldn't get it right spreading the sheet properly!!!!!! :P \m/ Not to forget, i felt closest to "YOU'' too!!! But i love the MOUNTAINS more!!!!!!! -- A good pun is its own re-word!!! \m/ But why is it that we DO have to pay for a short-cut in the long run?!?! We've known for sure that a small chip on the shoulder can indeed get to be heavy load!!!! But times are a-changing and today's modern boy would rather follow his father's tyre tracks, than his footsteps!!! And have u ever wondered, did Elizabeth tailor her own clothes?!?!? -- Metaphors- I love painting word pictures. And literally, "metaphorically speaking.." happens to be my favorite phrase!! :P Think about this- A tiny acrobat of hope somersaulted in h...
